D'Arenberg The Peppermint Paddock Sparkling Chambourcin
A revelation, this is a truly delicious red sparkling wine. Blended with a little Graciano, this has fantastic peppery blackberry aromas, and amazingly intense strawberry, spice and crème fraîche flavours. The tangy acidity of the Chambourcin grape makes it ideal for sparkling red wine, and its intense flavour means that the wine still has plenty of character once chilled. The Chambourcin vine has near-complete disease resistance, making organic cultivation relatively easy. The name comes from the peppermint gum trees (Eucalyptus radiata) growing around the vineyard.
