Sairen Spices Rum
Based in Sheffield, the team at Sairen (pronounced Siren) take 2-to-5 year old rums from Trinidad, Barbados, the Dominican Republic and Guyana and add a variety of botanicals to produced a selection of spiced rums that, unlike most on the market, are clear as a bell in colour.
In the case of 'Spices', Madagascan vanilla and Tonka beans provide a sweet, creamy note that is countered with a hit of allspice, clove and pink peppercorn, with a touch of sea salt on the finish to bring everything together. It's crisp and clean but still has bags of complexity without being overbearing, and makes a great Daiquiri!
