Swedish single malt from the marvellous Mackmyra, this time celebrating autumn and the bounty of deliciousness to be found in Swedish forests around that time of year. This expression was drawn from a selection of casks, including ones that previously held berry wine from fellow Swedish drinkmakers, Grythyttan. A complex, flavoursome, and thoroughly enjoyable whisky, this!
Nose: Vanilla pod earthiness, with blueberry pancake, red liquorice, and crisp pear notes.
Palate: Redcurrant and more blueberry, now with layers of toffee and ginger, plus a pinch of herbal oak.
Finish: Sultana, cinnamon, grilled peaches, dry cedar.
