Domaine de Maltaverne Pouilly Fumé 'L'Ammonite' from winemaker Gilles Maudry is superb example of properly made Sauvignon. Ripe and concentrated on the nose, smokey and grassy with minerality and a peppery herbaceous note. The palate is also super smokey with a wonderful flintiness, as well as herbal and bay aromas and ripe pink gooseberries.
