Martin Codax Lias Albarino
Intensely aromatic, with notes of ripe pear, apple and white peach, with added layers of complexity from the lees ageing: yeast, vanilla and fresh warm bread. Lots of upfront appeal from the first sip, with juicy richness, fresh fruit, cream and warm brioche notes. Long, refined finish. Martín Códax Lías is the best example of the evolution of Albariño. It is made with grapes from the research vineyard Pé Redondo. After selecting the best fine lees, it is aged and battonaged for 6 months, favouring the wine's volume in the mouth and giving it more amplitude and roundness. After this process it remains in reductive ageing for a year. Once bottled, it is aged for 6 months in the bottle before being released onto the market, thus achieving even greater complexity.
